I think traveling is not only see monuments. I think that you should meet the local people and culture. That's why I prefer to be hosted with locals. With them I can eat in local restaurants or visit the other face of the place I'm visiting.

I lived in Plovdiv (Bulgaria) during 7-8 months, as I was finishing my degree there.
I have been living in Iceland for 2 years.
I have been in a wedding in Kazakhstan!
