Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travel through the World. Meet a lot of interesting people, places, music and movies. And books. And foods. And thoughts. Yeah, and then maybe I could work with cinema.
ABOUT ME
My biggest passions, when it comes to arts and food for the mind, are: music and cinema. Well, I have plenty of other interests too, but these two matters are the ones that stand above all the rest. By far. I don't have many material obsessions, you know, buying lots of stuff. Except when it comes to lp records.
I hate hot weather. Well, it doesn't have to be chilly or too cold, but I can't think too straight when it comes to those high temperatures.
I also hate conformism, being part of an uniform mass, not thinking individually, just being a group, for its own sake. That's why I love meeting interesting new people, individuals, just ignoring stereotypes, prejudices, tendencies or whatever you name it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Here in São Paulo/Brazil I always try to interact with newcomers and people visiting my hometown for the first time, giving them tips and helping them to interact around here.
I've been hosted only twice through couchsurfing, in Belgium and Switzerland, both times were amazing! I'm pretty sure if I travelled in a different way I wouldn't love these experiences the way I did.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Been hosted twice in Europe: in Gent, Belgium, and in Geneva, Switzerland. Both times were amazing, my hosts and their roommates and friends really made me feel at home. And you also can meet a lot of people/places that you wouldn't know staying in a hostel.
Interests
Well, redundant informations here: music and cinema and people. Literature, photography and some other arts too. And nice cuisine, not fancy or expensive, but decent food, only. And people, storytelling, perspectives, details.

Music, Movies, and Books
If I've had to name just a few it would be something like this:
Movies - Robert Altman's "Nashville" (1975); John Cassavetes' "Shadows" (1959); Carl Theodor Dreyer's "Day of Wrath" (1943); Yasujiro Ozu's "Tokyo Story" (1953); Jean-Luc Godard's "Pierrot Le Fou" (1965); Martin Scorsese's "Taxi Driver" (1976); Murnau's "The Last Laugh" (1924); Charles Chaplin's "City Lights" (1931); Victor Erice's "Spirit of The Beehive" (1973); Alejandro Jodorowsky's "The Holy Mountain" (1973); Tobe Hooper's "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (1974 - not any of those modern remakes); Roman Polanski's "The Tenant" (1976); Jim Jarmusch's "Down by Law" (1986); Akira Kurosawa's "Yojimbo" (1961); Don Siegel's "The Lineup" (1956); Federico Fellini's "Nights of Cabiria" (1957); Robert Bresson's "Au Hazard Balthazar" (1966). Many more.
Music - Frank Zappa (number 1); Tom Waits; Boards of Canada; Serge Gainsbourg; The Kinks; The B-52's; Massive Attack; Pulp; early Roxy Music; The Velvet Underground; My Bloody Valentine; Pixies; The Beach Boys (with Brian Wilson only); The Undertones; Royal Trux; Mr. Bungle; The New Pornographers (best band of the 00s, for me); Parliament; Jon Spencer's Blues Explosion; The Turtles; Talking Heads; Georges Delerue; Ennio Morricone; Beck; Wire. And of course, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones (until 1972, basically).
Books - Well, I know some works from these authors, whom I respect a lot: Ernest Hemingway; Herman Hesse; Franz Kafka; Vladimir Nabokov; Francis Scott Fitzgerald; Fyodor Dostoyevsky; Honoré de Balzac... Well, I know very few novels by most of these writers, so I can't say I'm an expert in their entire work. My favorite book so far is Goethe's "The Sorrow of Young Werther".
Put H.R. Giger and Fernand Khnopff in the attachments list, please.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visiting Europe for the first time in 2014, and meeting so many nice people and places, from so many different countries around the world. I will never forget these moments in my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
My mother language, portuguese. English. Guitar playing (I dreamed of becoming a popular musician when I was a teenager, used to be really good back then, now I'm a little bit rusty). Some things about cinema and the movie world (never been to movies' school or anything like that, but I'm a celluloid geek for some years now). Some general culture, like basic astronomy, history or even geography. But, like I always say, my main thing to share is about the arts world.
And, naturally, if you want to know many things about Brazil, I'm here to tell you. The plain truth, not any exaggerated, partial overview.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Conversation, to begin with, a lot of it; sharing their 'hangout routine'; helping them with house work; cultural exchange; honest fun...
When I say 'them' I mean 'you', ok?
To put it in a short way: I really don't want to be just a furniture for a couple of days in your house, I want to be part of your routine, somebody you would like to have around. Oh, and I expect the same from you too, of course.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Belgium, Brazil, England, France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland
