ABOUT ME
My husband Eric and I live a fairly low-key and simple lifestyle, especially being that he is a student but we've always loved hosting people. We are both really laid back and adaptable.
I have over 7 years of experience in the non-profit sector and I am currently working for a local charity here in Nottingham and absolutely love it. Eric is currently in a PhD program studying Philosophy & Theology. We strive to live a simple life and create goodwill with and among others in whatever context we find ourselves in.
PHILOSOPHY
Unity.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Traveling and hospitality have always been two of my favourite things SO... we thought this would be a great way to make use of our guest room, offer kindness and learn from people of different cultures and backgrounds.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We just couchsurfed in two homes during our recent trip to Germany (Dec 2010) and it was a very positive experience for us. I found the people we stayed with very helpful, different, generous, safe, and comfortable to be around. It is good to be in others homes and accept kindness from strangers...not always 'easy' to receive but a very good and humbling experience and will be quick to do it again soon.
Interests
Volunteering to work with refugees, music (huge Indigo Girls fan), arts & crafts, cooking, meaningful work, attempting to maintain our crazy garden, travelling, and exploring our new surroundings. Eric spends much of his time reading, writing, working on programming projects, likes a good cigar, and enjoys board games!!
