ABOUT ME

I'm finally at home in Canada, and moved to Vancouver to attend art school. Starting a life here with my wonderful partner Karlo (K), so this profile is for him as well, or you can look him up as 'K and Mark Kowalczyk.'

I am a very genuine person; I am authentic, kind, empathic and social - I love connecting with people. As an artist I love to talk about art and culture and whatever I'm working on which is usually art having to do with social issues and modernity. I have grown up in the middle of the forest on a tiny island, so I am a true islander and a country gal but have been in the city for a long time now. I am usually easy going and open minded and hope to encounter people who are the same. To be cliche, I really like to have fun and seek excitement. I also have a cynical side! I am opinionated, logical and I am a very passionate person. However I am compassionate and accommodating so I am not pushy, aggressive or rude.

As a guest I am a decent cook, a skilled conversationalist, I am very clean, respectful and happy to do cleaning chores as well to help out before we depart. I am not in a financial situation to take you out for a fancy dinner or buy you things, but I can shower you with gifts that cost nothing, like cleaning, cooking, conversation, anything you want to learn, valuable fitness training from my partner or art lessons from myself!

In terms of my own needs, if I am comfortable and relaxed then I am incredibly easy going and chill. If I am uncomfortable, tired, feel unsafe, sick/jetlagged, not in a mood to party, then all I need is some quiet sleep and a comfy smoke-free bed and I'll be super happy and relaxed and social in the morning.

K:

My partner K is a lively, warm and interesting guy, I've never met anyone who didn't immediately get along with him famously. He's obsessed with fitness and physicality because he has started a business which is a new and exciting, very different approach to fitness. It's really fascinating and revolutionary! So he can tell you all about it. He loves hiking, mountaineering, chocolate, any physical activities, and long debates while drinking red wine :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Made many wonderful friends with surfers being hosted by my friends, then surfed in Australia and Bali. Since then I have hosted people in Vancouver and appreciate giving back. I don't expect anything from my guests, just good karma and paying it forward!
