Músicas, Filmes e Livros

I like music that means something. I will listen to anything as long as it has a message that can improve or inspire me. I like folk, jazz, rock, hip hop, and bluegrass. I can give country a chance, but haven't really gotten around to it. Some of my favorite bands/musicians are James Taylor, Keb Mo, Incubus, Muse, Common, Eryka Badu, and Justin Nozuka. I love every movie made by Will Ferrel and Daniel Day Lewis. When it comes to movies I will honestly watch everything except for horror films...I just don't see why anyone would want to see the darkest side of humanity. Instead, i like to be inspired, changed, or amused by the movies I watch. Some of my favorites are No Country for Old Men, Anchorman, There Will Be Blood, The Fifth Element, and The Girl Who Lept Through Time. I don't have a favorite type of book, but i do judge books by their cover...or at least their title. It's an issue. I am a huge Cormac McCarthy and William Faulkner fan. Some of my favorite books are All the Pretty Horses, As I Lay Dying, The Alchemist, Wives and Daughters, and The Series of Unfortunate Events.

I almost died driving up a mountain range in the Himalayas.It made me appreciate life and not be so afraid of dying. While i appreciate life more, I find it more terrifying each day. Living is the hard part, so I'm working to get really good at it.

I am an excellent cook and love sharing recipes. I can teach how to hand sew and knit. I am a percussionist, so if anyone is interested in drums, I would love to teach what I can. Being a dancer, I would also love to teach the different types of dance i know. I do natural African American hair and dread locks, so i can both give and teach you how to do your own dreads. I began intensely practicing Ashtanga Yoga a year ago and will begin my teachers certification soon, so I would also be able to lead yoga and breathing meditations. I love learning new skills, so anything you have i am willing to try. I would specifically like to learn new recipes, how to crochet, how to play different instruments, how to do different cultural dances, and any different types of yoga and meditation.
