Overview
About Me
I am an active person who loves new experiences. Born in Maryland, raised in New Mexico and have lived most of my adult life in Florida. I am a project manager and work for local state government. I have worked in the IT industry for 20+ years. I am a non-smoker.
I love the outdoors (specifically the beach), music, painting and spending time with my family. I have one son, Christian. He is 24 years old.
I have lots of great friends and always looking for new opportunities to network and make new friends. I love learning about and experiencing other cultures and what better way to do than by making more new friends and learning from them. :)
I have not done international travel, but am planning my first trip to Europe this summer. I am very excited about taking this journey and soaking up as much as I can during my travels.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A friend suggested that I try it out and of course to learn more about various cultures and people from around the world! Most importantly to make new friends!
Interests
I love the outdoors (specifically the beach), music, painting , watching college football (Go Florida State!) and going to the movies. I am not a great cook, but like trying new foods and entertaining friends.

Music, Movies, and Books
Gosh I have so many...but here's a few.
Music: Paul Simon, James Taylor, Sting, Sam Smith, Maroon 5, Classic Rock, Country, Jazz (Nina Simone)
Movies: It's a Wonderful Life, Jumanji, The Color Purple, The Hunger Games, The Hundred Foot Journey, Sound of Music
Books: Wish I was more of a reader, but unfortunately I am not. :/
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing and life changing things I've done is to care for my father from his cancer diagnosis through his passing in 2014. Although this was a very difficult time for my family and I, we got the opportunity to become closer with one another as a family and personally care for my dad in his time of need. We had our ups and downs daily and experienced a range of emotions - but made some beautiful memories that I will cherish the rest of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn about other cultures and want to hear about my guests experiences and travels.
I recently signed up to volunteer with a local literacy program teaching English to foreigners in our area. I will be trained in April and then can start working with other volunteers and students. I am very excited!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to visit with my guests and can show you around the area and local attractions. I will make you laugh, cook for you and offer friendship. An open book, with a warm heart, friendly smile and clean, comfortable place to stay.
