I was born in the Northeastern United States, but grew up primarily in Florida. I was a schoolteacher for a few years, but found myself suffering from wanderlust. I decided to move Massachusetts for a time in hopes of trying something new. I found that it was a wonderful experience, despite the fact that it was not always easy. I ended up back in Florida and back in school to pursue pediatric nursing. My hope is to do travel nursing so that I can see the world, but be a productive and contributing part of it as well.

As of now, I have another year before I start nursing school and, in the meantime, I am trying to experience life to the fullest before I give my time over to school again. Currently, I am working at a hospital where I'm a patient care tech (aka a glorified certified nursing assistant). It's given me a great glimpse into the world of nursing and healthcare and, although it's a crazy tough job sometimes, I am ever grateful to Past Tiffany for deciding to start at the bottom of the totem pole before pursuing nursing fully. I think that it has given me insight into the type of nurse I want to be and has given me a true picture of what I can expect as I enter this gruesomely awesome (or maybe, awesomely gruesome) field.

In any case, I look forward to what the next year brings as I save money for school and strike out on my own to explore this big, blue marble...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have an immense desire to travel and see the world. Additionally, I love meeting new people and getting to know a city from a local's perspective. So, when I heard about Couchsurfing, it seemed like the natural next step! I can't wait to have amazing experiences and adventures with new friends!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music would have to be country music, but I enjoy most genres of music. Good music is good music, no matter the genre! My favorite movies... About Time, Father of the Brides I & II (cheesy goodness!), and Game of Thrones (not a movie, but too awesome to leave out). Books... Where the Red Fern Grows, White Oleander, Heads in Beds, House of the Spirits.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing experiences I have ever had was getting to influence the lives of young children. I was a school teacher for a few years and, although I've since moved on to pursue a career in healthcare, I look back on my time spent with the children fondly. I have never felt more pivotal in another's life as I did with the students. I felt like what I was doing made a difference and that my choices in attitude, actions, and words could both positively and negatively impact those in my charge. I ache to be working with children again and look forward to a time when I can work pediatrics in the healthcare industry.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I feel that I am easy to talk to and find myself talking to people for hours. I love listening to others share their stories and experiences and, in turn, sharing mine. I believe the most valuable thing I have to share with hosts would be laughter and good times!
