About Me

CURRENT MISSION

fighting with years of Southern charm that never sank in / developing professionalism as a full-time sloth enthusiast

ABOUT ME

I enjoy adventures. Anywhere. From exploring the smallest parts of towns to packing a bag and hitting the road, wherever it may go. I enjoy moving. I enjoy laughing. I enjoy meeting other people who enjoy the same.

I'm currently pursuing my masters in environmental studies at The Evergreen State College. I also work for the Sustainability in Prisons Project coordinating monthly science and sustainability lectures for incarcerated men and women.

I am an open, (hopefully) inviting person. Smiling most of the time. And I love to laugh and share that with others.

I find myself interested in anything from community-based gardening and living, to the complexities of comedy as expressed through Bravest Warriors' amazed horse skit. I like learning about things-- anarchism, nature, people-- and maintaining a structured life; however, I also like running about recklessly and losing the concept of time. I'm currently fixating on that perfect balance.

PHILOSOPHY

I live for the excitement of learning from and helping others-- humans, plants and animals alike.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have only surfed to this point, but once I get my new place, I plan to host surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed from Alabama to Washington as I moved across the country this summer.

Stopped in Kansas City, Denver, Salt Lake City, and Portland. I loved every experience and I took something different from each.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 8 weeks in Central America (more specifically, Panama) studying climate change and its impacts. It was amazing to work with local sugar cane growers, learn about the impacts of climate change that they had witnessed, and offer a solution to their problems. It was an incredibly rewarding and life-changing experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a ton of experience in the kitchen. I'd love to prepare and share a meal and maybe even pass down a recipe or two.

I enjoy gardening, but would love to learn more about it. Any other skills are welcomed!

I also offer any help that I can provide with around-the-house projects or community volunteer opportunities!
