About Me

I'm coming to Brighton on the 10 th of September to study english language and literature at the University of Sussex during the autumn semester. My goal is to become a teacher in English and German and I am very excited about leaving life at the office behind and getting to do something I am passionate about :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet people I wouldn't have met otherwise, get insights to different cultures and to practise my language skills. Right now I would especially love to get in touch with people in Brighton!

Interests

I recently started kitesurfing and I hope to be able to continue with that in Brighton. I learned to walk on a slackline last summer, now I want to learn to jump on it! Dancing makes me crazy happy. It's always fun with company for a run and or a visit to the gym. Furthermore I really like road trips and bike trips.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste varies a lot depending on mood and purpose and develops all the time. This summer in Berlin I learned that I love techno. I like classical music, nordic folk music, world music, singer-songwriter/pop/rock, dubstep.

If you let me I will probably choose a drama movie with an imdb-score above 7,4.

I love books. If I get hold of a really good book, I'll find the time to read it. The best books are the ones that catch the atmosphere through subtle means, for example the characters, the language used, the choice of words, the dialogue, the tempo, by what is said and what is left out. When the reader is not served an interpretation but is allowed to draw his or her own conclusions. One of my absolute favourites are the Moomin books by Tove Jansson.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

4 week language course in Berlin this summer - fantastic city.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a few languages, how to cook finnish and swedish dishes, how to play the violin and how to strike a proper ballet or yoga pose.

I would love to learn your language, cooking new dishes and how to play a few more accords or strumming patterns on the guitar.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Denmark, England, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Finland, France, Germany, Namibia, Norway, Sweden
