About Me

Being a bit accident prone and having been in my fair share of near-death experiences I have come to the conclusion the world is too small to see through a television or magazine.
I spent most of my teenage life in a small town in Norfolk England but have spent the last few years doing very little except working and travelling.
Both myself and my girlfriend Sheree have spent time working in the French Alps, travelling around South East Asia and are currently in South America. We have been living and travelling together since 2015 and plan for this to continue long term.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The main reason is to meet local people and get a real feeling for the towns and cities we visit. I love meeting new people and visiting "off the beaten track" places that are hard to find as a visitor, who is just passing through towns and cities.

Interests

I have been an avid fan of motorbikes for the last 15 years, even if they have tried to kill me on occasion. I currently own an old Kawasaki ER5 which needs some work. This love of riding motorbikes also caused me to fall in love with motorcycle racing, specifically MotoGP.
I find myself talking and thinking about MotoGP so much that, together with a friend from home, I started For The Love Of MotoGP (FTLOMotoGP) which is a podcast all about the racing and news coming from the world of motorcycle racing.
I also love Formula 1 and many other forms of motorsport.
While travelling I spend a lot of time with my head buried in my kindle, especially when on buses and planes. I am a big fan of fantasy and Sci-Fi but I also spend a lot of time reading travel memoirs and stories. I have recently discovered a love for hiking so a lot of what I read is to do with that now.
The love for hiking that both Sheree and I have found led us to hike the Camino De Santiago from St Jean through to Santiago De Compostella. The 500 miles took us around 40 days to complete and was an incredible experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste is pretty much covered by the Motorhead album title "Everything Louder Than Everything Else."
My favourite films and books tend to change on a weekly basis but films such as Shawshank Redemption and Waterworld are consistently in my top 10.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After suffering a motorcycle crash in 2011 I broke my back and was told I'd never walk again. It took me nearly two years but I beat the odds and walked unaided for the first time. in 2018 I walked 500 miles across northern Spain and have tackled many smaller hikes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a passion for life and a great enjoyment of all things unusual. I love going fast by any means so can share a great love of extreme sports.
