About Me

Hey I'm a guy from Germany that just came from India and Indonesia to the States. This is my 5th trip to the USA after I've attended High School in Clovis near Fresno in 2012 for one semester.
I'm nature loving and enjoy pretty much any outdoor activity. The part of Germany where I am from is very close to the Swiss Alps which serves one of the best places for skiing, rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking and much more. I used to be really into rock climbing for about 7 years but pretty much quit in my junior year in high school as it became kinda tough. In Germany the junior and senior year are very important so I spend more time on school and partying as this became more attractive to me.
After school I wanted to take a year off to travel the world which I'm doing right now. As mentioned before I have been to India and Indonesia before for about 4 months in total. In india we have mainly been to the northern Himalaya in ladakh which offers an incredible nature experience!
Lately I got back into rock climbing and also brought my climbing equipment (well, only some of it due to its weight) and hopefully I can use it here before I head off to a road trip along with a friend from Germany :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is a great way to make new friends all around the world and get to know new cultures in a whole new way. I'm an open minded person which I would love to share with others. I'd rather travel along with someone instead of being on my own. Sharing experiences more than doubles it's happiness. I am also convinced that through couchsurfing one can gain a much deeper insight in a country's culture than through staying in let's say a hotel.

Interests

I like anythingy that's experimental, artsy, design, music, and watever else

My home town is really close to the mountains so during winter time I would go skiing as often as possible. I used to be really into rock climbing and I'm getting into it again.

Music, Movies, and Books

I pretty much like any kind of music as long as it makes me feel good, mostly some kind of indie. It can range from jazz over country to screamo though.
Movies whatever is interesting, mostly independent stuff but not limited to it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked up to 5000m in Ladakh next to Stok Kangri (6000m). It took us quite a bit for the last 100m to the top as it was extremely difficult to breath at that height. But it was definitely worth it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm willing to share and teach everything that I know. Also, I'm willing to learn as much as possible from others. I could teach you how to cook stereotypical german food such as Bratwurst and/or Sauerkraut and how Germans drink beer ;)
