I love: storytelling, exploring new places, cooking with people, and good questions. I paint and sketch all the time and I love to look at other peoples' art. I read lots of books (poetry/fiction in English/Spanish), and love museums (history, science, art, etc).

Love the outdoors too. I run almost every day. This past summer I backpacked down the Andes for 6 weeks, in Peru and Chile. I have hiked in many of the United States' national parks, and lived in a tent in the rainforest on the island-nation of Dominica for a summer, building a school.

This year I'm teaching English in Spain, and in my free time seeing as much of Europe as possible. I'm on a very tight budget, so I'm not likely to go to expensive tourist attractions or eat out at fancy restaurants. But I'll walk anywhere, talk to almost anyone, and see / eat / feel / explore everything and place I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm very easygoing — if you want to show me around, I'm happy to follow you to lots of strange places! If you're busy and just have a couch for sleeping, that is ok too — I can entertain myself. Not much makes me uncomfortable except unkindness.

Mostly, just tell me what you need from me as a visitor.

When I was in college, my roommates and I hosted about 15 couchsurfing people over the years, and it was so fun! We never used my account, though, so it looks like I have never hosted before. But I loved hosting and meeting new people, and now it's my turn to do the same!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One night I woke up to the sound of rain on the tin roof. It was strangely bright, and when I opened my eyes there were thousands of lightning bugs taking shelter on the underside of the roof, blinking on and off in a huge symphony of light. I didn't do this, but it happened to me. It was magic.
