About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to meet new people, and show what a great place Australia / Port Stephens is. I live in an awesome spot, so I should share it. While travelling, I want to meet people with a similar attitude.

ABOUT ME

I'm a film buff, like to read and write (non fiction mostly).
I have studied Philosophy at uni, and continue to broaden this knowledge in my own time.
I'm planning to return to formal study next year with a mathematics degree.
I also like to brew and drink beer, go to the beach and hang out with awesome friends.

PHILOSOPHY

No one is right, everyone is worth listening to. "Learn from everyone, follow no one."
The world is a big puzzle, and I'm open to any clues about how to piece it together and enjoy the journey.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had two amazing people stay here for nearly a week. They were great company.

Music, Movies, and Books

Top films (in no particular order, and forgetting a whole bunch): Bladerunner; Spirited Away; O Brother Where Art Though; Blues Brothers; Rosemary's Baby; Solaris; Seven; Ran

Music: Massive Attack; Radiohead; Tool; Air... too many more to mention. I used to host a radio show, so I'm pretty in to my music.

Books: Hmmm... I'm getting into Neal Stephenson's Quicksilver at the moment. I don't read too much fiction. I read to learn.
I literally have a library in my house with a few thousand books in it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A friend and I once snuck passed the security at the Sydney Opera House and took ourselves on a tour. We ended up crawling through the bowels of the air conditioning and stuck our heads out the top and saw the harbour from the roof.

Teach, Learn, Share

I learn:
Philosophy
Mathematics
Occult philosophy (esp. hermetic kabbalah)
IT (esp. web design and development) - I work in this field.
Some science (esp. physics and cosmology) - but a layman's level.

So I can impart knowledge in those, and am also keen to continue absorbing it.
