Howdy,
I am a very friendly, easy-going music-obsessed London-displaced Australian Optometrist. I'm very much into things like writing songs, literature (want to get much more into this come 2014), film, travelling (everywhere), hopefully learning Spanish this year...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted some couch-surfers last year, and am looking to travel around Europe this year. I can recommend some great couches in London if you're looking.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had a very nice Polish couple over last year for a night. We showed them some of the North London nightlife while being fed Bison-grass vodka.

Interests

Listening to and making music. My beginnings are 90s indie (Ok Computer), but have branched into many corners now...some favourites being troplicalia, 60s soul, post-punk, Krautrock, shoegaze, lo-fi heroes Daniel Johnston and Stevie Moore, noisy stuff like Sonic Youth, singer-songwriters: Dylan, Tom Waits, Neil Young, Nick Drake. Currently listening to Black Sabbath, Coil, Boredoms, Siouxie and The Banshees, Guided By Voices, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Kyuss.

Literature- Discovering Bukowski was a big thing for me. I love escaping into Murakami-land, currently attempting Charles Dickens' David Copperfield, past favourites include Catcher In The Rye and On The Road (yes, I need to branch out!)

Film/TV- Aiming to explore much more film this year (as with literature, I've neglected both due to my music obsession). Favourites include: The Shining, American Beauty, Miyazaki films, David Lynch films, Monty Python Breaking Bad, Sopranos, Father Ted, Peep Show...
