Overview
About Me
Above all, I'm a compulsive learner. When I'm not at work, I'll typically spend my time picking up new skills. Over the last couple of years I've taught myself electronic circuits, programming, video compositing, and 3D modeling. Besides seeking the addictive qualities of learning and fascination in what I study, I'm also trying to relate everything back to making beautiful and technically exacting product images. Advertising is my career and passion, and nothing gets me excited like becoming more proficient or efficient in my craft. I also enjoy bouldering, biking around islands, and urban exploration.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm seeking more vulnerability and uncertainty in my life. While the last few years spent near exclusively on education and career development have been invaluable, I'd be at a loss if I didn't branch out, travel, and have some adventure. Having a stable job and home is a blessing, but I won't let stability and comfort define my lifestyle.

Music, Movies, and Books
Adam Young's various music projects occupy a special place in my heart. Port Blue, Color Therapy, Sky Sailing, and Owl City are all staples. Mellow electronic music in general gets a lot of playtime as well. Podcasts are also big for me, which I listen to an average of 3 hours daily. Some of my favorites are Reply All, Startup, and Radiolab.
Disney, Pixar, Ghibli, Dreamworks, Sony, I love them all. Animated films make up probably 80% of the movies I watch.
Malcolm Gladwell's books and the Freakonomics series are some of my favorites. I've also really enjoyed Kurt Vonnegut, Catch-22, The Things They Carried, and others written in off-beat styles.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Above all else, I have plenty of experience with photography and Photoshop, particularly on the technical side. I've been retouching and shooting commercially for over two years alongside my education, and it's an obsession of mine. Whether you're learning how f-stops function, navigating studio lighting, or you want to learn some techniques for excellent skin retouching, I get really into that stuff and love sharing.
