ABOUT ME

Hey fellow couch surfers. My name is Tim, I'm currently working in Brisbane, Australia.

I am hosting this couchsurfing profile on behalf of my step brother who lives on Qamea, Island in the Northern division of Fiji. Due to bad reception, lack of technology etc it is easier for me to manage the couchsurfing profile.

PHILOSOPHY

I never set out to become anything in particular, only to live creatively and push the scope of my experience, through adventure and through passion.

We have just began hosting surfers, we had one visitor from England come for a short stay and loved it! ALways keen to meet new people and give them a taste of true Fijian life!

Teach, Learn, Share

So as I said earlier, currently Im not IN the house, but my step brother is. This is a unique opportunity to see the Fijian culture, customs and their way of life. There is a saying in Fijian 'Sega na Leqa' (Se-nga-na-le-ga) — which translates to 'no worries'. In other words most people operate on 'Fiji Time' a leisurely pace where everything is enjoyed and savoured.

I recommend this couchsurfing spot for backpackers as it is a bit rugged. There are definitely not all modern facilities available.
But you will experience REAL Fijian village life, the laughter over Kava a traditional drink, and the amazing adventures that take place daily.

If you are curious you can learn about native bats, amazing flora and fauna, the Tagimoucia flower, found nowhere else in the world! Or for the more adventurous explore the marine park, waterfalls and waterslides.

Fijian food is simple but delicious, dont be afraid to try something new, sea snails, octopus, crab or seaweed. You never know what you might like.
