ABOUT ME

I'm a very chilled, laid-back, easy-going person although I'm very determined and hard-working. Perhaps I even work a bit too hard which is why I'm dedicated a lot more time to traveling and experiencing more. If you're going to do something, do it properly and what's the point if you're not going to give it your best. I absolutely love my city - Cape Town and know it better than the back of my hand (but who really studies the back of their hand that often). I can show you far more interesting places than the typical touristy spots. I have a passion for anything arty and creative and love getting involved in as much as possible.

Interests

Photography (even though it's my main career it's my biggest love and I mostly do it for fun), Music (makes my world spin around like a record), hiking, scuba diving, Painting (although it's been a while, poker (every Wednesday night), chilling on the beach (hey, being a beach bum can be an interest), playing soccer, nature and animals (especially cats), body boarding, snow boarding (although we don't get much snow in South Africa - In fact almost none, traveling (duh)

well where do you begin? I could be here all day filling out this section. But here are some of my Favourites:

Movies: The Big Lebowski, Fight Club, Pulp Fiction, Magnolia, A Life Less Ordinary, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Shindler's List, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Kill Bill, Adaptation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Life is Beautiful, the Pianist, Forrest Gump, Requiem for a Dream, Run Lola Run, Sin City, Donnie Darko, Hotel Rwanda, the Lion King, a Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissor Hands, Metropolis (the anime version), Princess Monenoke, Trainspotting. Favourite South African movies are Tsotsi and a Boy called Twist.

Books: Anything by Chuck Palahniuk, Tom Robbins or Paulo Coelho. I'm reading Graham Hancock's Supernatural at the moment - It's pretty intense.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam with a whale shark and managed to grab hold of it dorsal fin and let it drag me through the water (never mind couchsurfing, whalesharksurfing is where it's at), I was in charge of organising the NOFX concert in Cape Town in 2007, I met Nelson Mandela. Okay so that's three but it just makes life more interesting.
