Overview
About Me
Timna: Just your typical Jewish atheist socialist-leaning queer woman working for an NGO and missing the open road.
Jackie: My adorable, quirky roommate who teaches math to underprivileged middle schoolers in Chicago and cooks the best mac-and-cheese I've ever had.
We are both 20-something graduates of Northwestern University in Chicago, and we are incredibly excited to travel together through Europe this summer!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Timna says: I was introduced to CouchSurfing in 2011, when I spent nine months living in northern Israel working with progressive NGOs on social, economic and legal justice both within Israel and the Occupied Territories. During that time my roommates and I hosted half a dozen amazing guests and were honored to be received by many more from Jerusalem to Petra, Jordan.
I moved back to my home in Chicago in 2012 and am now planning to take a trip to Scotland, England and France with my good friend and roommate, Jackie (pictured). We would love to find hosts, whether they want to show us around town or are just happy to give us a roof over our heads. We are very self-sufficient and happy to go with the flow!
Interests
We like meeting interesting people, sharing sandwiches on the beach, finding new authors and old music, making morning espresso and hiking across the country.
