About Me
Hey there!
My name is Timo and I am studying environmental sciences at a uni close to Hamburg. I have spent this semester as an exchange in Chile and at the moment am traveling through Chile and south america. I am a very sociable person, love to dive into deep conversations, love to get to know people and places, love to talk about cultures and politics, love to get some perspective! I'm into music, like choral singing and I guess you could call environmental protection a hobby of mine as well haha. Throuch my studies, I am obviously quite attached to all these topics surrounding sustainability but don't worry, I'm no moral policeman haha.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Traveling, I learned that to me it can be difficult for me to get a profound picture of a place, a culture, if I keep to myself or don't escape the touristic bubbles. And I love getting to know people on a profound level! Many friends have told me about Couchsurfing as a solution to those desires of profoundness and authenticity so thats why I'm gladly giving it a try hehe. Excited to meet people!

Teach, Learn, Share
One thing I have learnt about going abroad was the socio-political process, Chile is going through right now. Although I saw myself as an informed person, that tries to dig deep and understand whats going on in the world I realised, how living in the city, knowing many chilean people strongly affected, completely changed my perspective. I now feel connected to this and other social processes on a different level. And seeing, how beautifully a crowd can manifest their protest, how beautifully people can express their discontent with the government and the economic system. Still am amazed by a lot I have seen here and I am grateful to take a lot of lessons home with me.
