I'm pretty easygoing and laid back. My dog, on the other hand is hyper and slightly neurotic, but adorable. I love listening to music and stories more than anything else. I'm traveling across America, partly to collect stories from everywhere and, if I'm honest, mostly because God told me to do so. I'm pretty serious about my Christian faith, but also serious about not forcing my beliefs on others. People have a right to choose, you know?
I also love to make people smile and I don't take life as seriously as I sometimes think I should. I tend to be sarcastic when I feel more comfortable with people, but it's always meant in good fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I said above, I'm traveling across America to collect stories and see much more than my former comfort zone would allow. Part of that journey involves needing to actually meet people and talk with them, and also a need for places to stay on the way. No sense beating around the bush regarding that, in my opinion.

Interests

I like music, video games, Magic the Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, movies & books (especially fantasy, if the last two didn't give it away), and discussing religious beliefs. I find disagreements fascinating when discussed politely, although, due to the volatile nature of such discussions, it isn't something I pursue regularly.

Music, Movies, and Books

Musically, I like a lot of different things, and my music collection has everything from pop to classic rock to Irish ballads to video game soundtracks to movie scores to Beethoven to a bit of heavy metal and acapella. My current favorite artists are Lindsey Stirling, Peter Hollens, and the Piano Guys, but that's likely to change over time to someone else.
My favorite movies are probably the Marvel superhero series of movies, Book of Eli, the Dark Knight trilogy and the 25th Anniversary Concert of Les Miserablés (not a movie, but I saw it on DVD, so it counts for me.
My favorite books include the Wheel of Time series, Chronicles of Narnia, most things by Brandon Sanderson, and of course, the Bible.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing to me, at least, is that I've actually started journeying across America on foot. Beyond that, my life has been somewhat lackluster. I've gotten some interesting stories to tell, but I wouldn't call much of it "amazing" yet.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully, I can share a story and a laugh. Life is too hard to take seriously all the time. More practically, I can also help clean, not just after myself, but if asked, I'd be happy to help with almost anything. If not asked, I'll probably try to help anyway. It's part of my nature.
