Hi I'm Timur,

I was born in a small coastal town in a hospital which is literally 10 meters to the sea and 20 to an ancient Hellenic Theater. This might be the reason for my love to the nature and history.

My mother is German and my father is Turkish, both sides have roots in many countries of the Balkan region which is definitively going to be one of my travel destinations.

The town I come from is a very big bay surrounded by big mountains and a lot of islands, some of them are Greek and some of them are Turkish. So you can still feel a bit of turco-greek culture.

I used to be in, under or at least by the sea nearly everyday. I started working for a travel agency in my holidays (3-4 moths) with the age of 13. Doing mostly kayaking but also mountain biking and climbing.

Currently I'm living in Krefeld and I'm mostly studying but I try to travel around europe at any occasion.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The very usual probably, mainly to meet open minded people from around the world. To not feel like a total tourist and get advices for not touristic places. But also to show my guests around or at least to give them a small briefing. And I'm a student studying abroad so to be honest also because it's cheaper.
