lived in D.C. till age 18, moved to Kansas for step-father's work (farmer) stayed in Midwest for 12 years; married (81) adopted two children (Daniel 86-Guatemala and Marcela 90-Colombia) taught French in Midwest. Stayed home with kids (homeschooled both). Lived in Peru, traveled throughout Europe. Love to read in three languages, meet people from everywhere, listen to Democracy Now and Alternative Radio (check them out if you don't know them), listen to Podcasts from French Radio Stations, cook, swim, hike and bike. Teach French part-time for Alliance Francaise in Tampa, FL. for 8 years.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Have accepted travelers and enjoyed meeting them. Have attended some gatherings in Tampa, FL and will do so in new city (Pasadena, CA) Am a member of (and have participated in) Servas, another home host organization throughout the world. nb although I am 67 I am very active; avid biker, hiker, walker, and gym rat. I travel a lot and often alone.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Accepted travelers in Tampa and enjoyed the experience. Will travel w/Couch Surfing in France in fall 2016.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
went to Macchu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, remember what I was doing the day JFK was shot, went to Tikal (Guatemala), got Fulbright Teaching Assistantship for France (l977-78), Lived in Peru.
Teach, Learn, Share
Being a language teacher I am always ready to give suggestions about language. I also love to cook and can teach recipes that I enjoy making. I am knowledgeable about my country's history and politics and ready to discuss any topic that has to to with politics or history. I particularly am interested in Vietnam War era.
