ABOUT ME

I'm a nomadic spirit. When I was little I wanted to be just like MacGyver. Still do. I like the environment just enough to recycle, and sometimes wish I could be an organic farmer. I never get homesick, but I do get nostalgic. I love the food channel. I also want to see Earth from space at some point.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I am seeking couches all over California around August, and one in Berkeley after that while I look for a little more permanent place to live while I study!

Interests

I love wathcing, watching again, reading about and discussing movies. I have a passion for discovering local microbreweries, especially when it comes to new IPA's. I adore belgian ales. I regularly attend (non-pretentious) winetastings. And I take pianolessons from a wonderfully eccentric Russian lady.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Nausicaä and the Valley of the Wind/Pan's labyrinth/Lars and the Real Girl/Dancer in the dark/the Descent/Secretary/History Boys/Waitress/Half Nelson/das Experiment/Lost in Translation/Battle Royale/Funny Games(US)/Sunshine/ anything within the post-apocalyptic-dystopian-futuristic-society genre, and I have a weak spot for quirky but sweet comedies. Also: The West Wing/Twin Peaks/Buffy/X-files/Studio 60/the Office/Firefly/Life among television favorites.

Books: Mengele Zoo made me want to move to the rainforest. Have read my copy of Kafka on the Shore to shreds, I love everything by Murakami. Catch 22, the Awakening by Kate Chopin, and I have a deep appreciation for the fantasy genre.
