Turn and face the strange.
Poet, activist and doctor working in mental health, born and raised in Glasgow. I'm non-binary, meaning that I identify as neither female nor male, gender-neutral pronouns preferred (they/them/their) and am one of the current co-convenors of Rainbow Greens, the LGBTI+ group in the Scottish Green Party.
Things I like a lot include performance poetry, good food (mostly veggie these days), nice beer and a good dance in the mud at a music festival! I talk about politics quite a lot and am particularly interested in equality issues.
You can find me on twitter - @greenwithanger.
Democracy is sexy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Have hosted a lot in the past few years but unable to keep up with this as much now due to work and other commitments. Occasional surfing...
I've hosted about 50 times, been hosted 6+ times (as I haven't went on a big trip since I joined CS), was very much involved in the Glasgow CS community from 2010 onwards but had to step back from that due to other commitments.
Politics, craft beer, performance poetry, writing in general, travelling, music, films, cooking new things

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite films include anything directed by Xavier Dolan, Withnail and I, Pride, The Station Agent, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Amelie, Goodbye Lenin, The Lives of Others...
Don't watch much TV but my favourite programmes include Orange Is The New Black, Father Ted, Black Books and The Thick Of It.
Music includes Sufjan Stevens, Anohni, David Bowie, Grizzly Bear, Warpaint, Sigur Ros, Peatbog Faeries, Treacherous Orchestra, The John Langan Band...
My current favourite books include Amanda Palmer's The Art of Asking and Honourable Friends by Caroline Lucas.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Skydiving in Taupo in NZ in 2008, also the overnight cruise I did on Milford Sound as part of the same trip. The scenery in NZ and whole experience was incredible, I would love to go back some time.
Or on a completely different tangent, I gave a speech against TTIP on behalf of Global Justice Now at the anti-austerity rally in Glasgow in 2015 - nerve-wracking but a great thing to get to do!
