About Me

Trying to find a couch in Madrid for a desperately needed wee holiday!

I'm an activist (mostly as part of the Scottish Green party and with Global Justice Now), craft beer enthusiast, spoken word performer and doctor, born and raised in Glasgow. I am non-binary, meaning that I identify as neither female nor male, gender-neutral pronouns preferred ('they').

I am passionate about politics, particularly issues relating to equality, good food (mostly veggie these days), nice beer and the power of a good dance in the mud at a music festival!

I work as an emergency medicine doctor and do a lot of volunteer work within the Green party also, including being the communications coordinator for Glasgow Greens and being the current co-convenor of Rainbow Greens - the LGBTI+ group in Scottish Greens.

I'm on twitter a lot - you can follow me as @greenwithanger, I also help to manage @glasgowgreens, @rainbowgreens, @globaljusticegl and @NWGlasgowGreens

I'm aware my current response rate looks a bit poor - this is mostly from over a year aware when things in life became really busy and I then realised I needed to step back from hosting for a while. Appreciate people being understanding of this :-)

Democracy is sexy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Have hosted a lot in the past few years but unable to keep up with this as much now due to work and other commitments. Occasional surfing...

I've hosted about 50 times, been hosted 6+ times (as I haven't went on a big trip since I joined CS), and have been involved in the Glasgow community since 2010 or so.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving in Taupo in NZ in 2008, also the overnight cruise I did on Milford Sound as part of the same trip. The scenery in NZ and whole experience was incredible, I would love to go back some time.
