As an art director and designer, I tend to get real busy at work and end at crazy hours in the morning. Traveling is something I look forward to as a break from work, so yeah that was what I did for 6 months in 2008. I embarked on my first round-the-world trip and started Couchsurfing, meeting heaps of fantastic CS friends along the way.

Chatting with locals, getting to know their country through the invaluable tips and recommendations on the local food are what I enjoy doing when I travel. I am always enthusiastic to testify that Couchsurfing is by far the most fulfilling way to travel. My travel experiences have been significantly enhanced through my worldwide friends from Couchsurfing.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I chanced upon Couchsurfing while looking for travel tips back in 2007, and reckoned it an interesting concept. I got keen and started hosting travelers and ventured into this fantastic experience of knowing other couchsurfers when I started on my round-the-world trip.

I love house gatherings so on top of hosting individual travelers, I also organise CS parties at my place to bring people together. It's great fun and an excellent environment for both locals and foreigners to chill in a home setting. Seeing people having a good time just fuels the passion to be more active in CS Singapore in this manner.

In June 2009, I couchsurfed at the CS basecamp in San Francisco and had a great time there meeting the people behind the scene! It was an honor to meet Casey Fenton, the founder of CS, during my few days with them. I see the work they do, had an awesome experience with these people, and sure hope to meet these people again.

• Being at the foot of the roaring Niagara Falls, awed and soaked to the skin by it. • Hiking the Kaibab dirt trail at Grand Canyon. • Embarking on a challenging 3776 m, freezing climb to the peak of Mount Fuji to watch a sunrise. • Chancing upon wild dolphins while kayaking in the sea at Cairns, Australia. • Going on an early morning adventure and finding a hot spring right next to the Pacific Ocean up north of San Francisco. • Traveling to different cities around the world to Salsa!
