Interests

I like to try everything at least once, im travelling the world looking for fulfillment in my life, so i can say i lived it.

cooking, hiking, cycling, working out, exploring, doing stuff, doing slightly dangerous stuff, i stopped playing computer games a while ago.
Exercising a lot is my number one addiction
drinking and eating. ( i cant overstress those two enough)

I’ve been dancing salsa and bachata for about three years now, and I can hold my own on the dance floor with some intermediate moves.

i like taking photos

Music, Movies, and Books

I’ve read a lot while travelling — plenty of old classics and some newer works: Gulliver’s Travels, The House of the Spirits, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, lots of Jules Verne, and books that later became films like Life of Pi and Cloud Atlas. I’ve also enjoyed Joseph Conrad, Robert Anton Wilson’s Illuminatus! Trilogy, Carlos Castaneda, Isabel Allende, Osho, Bukowski, Gogol, Laura Gallego, David Mitchell, and Carlos Ruiz Zafón. These days I try to read fiction in Spanish and non-fiction in English. An Immense World by Ed Yong blew my mind, and I’ll definitely be reading more of his work. Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari also made a big impact. I read more when I travel and less when I stay put. My favourite film is still La Haine, along with Back to the Future. I’ve watched plenty of American series but only the ones I really liked — Lost, Breaking Bad, The Wire, Deadwood, Game of Thrones, South Park, Rick and Morty, BoJack Horseman, and the second season of Westworld, when things actually made sense. Im a sucker for all the Star Wars series, i lap them up like a an old cat drinking fine quality UHT milk. Lately I’ve been watching more Spanish series like La Casa de Papel and La Templanza. My taste in music varies — I enjoy the occasional guitar or piano-based artist like Feist or Regina Spektor, but mainly it’s soul, funk, disco, house, and techno. I’m a sucker for anything electronic above 110 bpm when I’m exercising, and I have an unapologetically great taste in pop (Riri, Dua Lipa, Mabel, etc.). I take an MP3 player wherever I go.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve swum with sea lions in the Galápagos, climbed a mountain in Bolivia, and spent five days rafting down a jungle river with just a guide. I worked in the Brenta Dolomites in Trentino for five months as a holiday and walking guide, really getting to know the lay of the land. I spent a week learning Chinese kung fu in a 1,300-year-old monastery in China, and went as far south as Lake Windhond to fish for trout. I’ve seen things you can’t imagine — I’ve stood on the back deck of a blinker bound for the Plutition Camps, sweat in my eyes, watching the stars fight on the shoulder of Orion.

This part always feels a bit like showing off — I’m sorry if it comes across that way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m becoming a more experienced English teacher. I could teach you some maths, though I think I’ve forgotten most of it — except the statistics, of course. Maybe I could help you raise your level of consciousness, but that might be something I could learn from you instead. I want to learn everything about food and wine, from seed to plate. I drink too much, but I never get drunk (except that one time).

What I Can Share with Hosts

My unsurpassed excellence in the kitchen, and willing to apply myself to any tasks needed to be done, a rhetoric that is fallible in all areas but some may find highly amusing.
