About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Crossing the Atlantic Ocean west to east in a sailing boat - although we never sailed before. Sounds crazy, is crazy. xD

ABOUT ME

I am a curious, open hearted and open minded person, interested in a very wide range of topics and I love to share ideas and learn about how people live and think elsewhere. For me travelling does not mean to spend two weeks in an all inclusive hotel and than going back home as the same person that I came. For me travelling is a possibility for personal development and a possibility to broaden my horizon.

For the last 5 month my boyfriend Fede (36 y/o Spaniard) and me have been travelling through Chile, Argentina, Peru and Colombia, including a 1000 km long distance hike in the chilenean Andes. Our upcoming mission is to cross the Atlantic Ocean in a sailboat which is why we are heading for the Carribean now.

We are both fluent in English as well as Spanish and German and the main reason why we are looking for couchsurfing options is because we want to stay outside the "tourist bubbel" and want to get to know the real people of the regions we are travelling through.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I am hoping to find hosts in Carribean for our upcoming journey to the northeastern Carribean.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We had one very nice couchsurfing experience as guests in the south of Chile. At this ocasion, as well as any other time, I enjoy a relaxed conversation which leads to an exchange of ideas.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot and the list of books that I would like to read is long but currently I am reading books about sailing to prepare for the upcoming voyage across the Atlantic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have done quite a bit of alpine rock climbing in the Alps which used to bring me to very remote and isolated places. Ever since I enjoyed the pureness and silence of nature which is why i spent the majority of my leisure-time in the last 15 years outside.

Teach, Learn, Share

You can teach me how to sail and I can teach you how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation...

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a medical doctor and I actually love my job. So if you have any questions or problems concerning your health feel free to ask, maybe I can help.

Fede on the other hand is both: an osteopath (something like chiropracter) and a passionate cook. I regularly enjoy his therapy as well as his cooking - and so could you ;-)

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Maldives, Malta, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, Peru, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom, United States
