Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to be a productive member of society, when i'm drunk I make noise but otherwise I live quietly
ABOUT ME
I'm a friendly human being, an educated clown. When I was younger I would often sleep on beaches and in parks, but I softened up a bit: I turned into a couch slouch. I used to speak too much but now I've learned to listen; I'm broke but love to travel so couchsurfin' is a blessing.
PHILOSOPHY
I know that I know nothing. No one is inherently evil.
Carpe diem. If music is the food of love, then play on. I also try to keep in touch with my inner child. And keeping in touch with my outer child (my son, soon to be pluralized) is nice too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't participated yet but am willing to do some translations (English to French).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've only hosted up till now but I regularly get invited by people I meet. Last person who invited me actually owned some sort of hotel and plugged in the videoke. Good fun.
Interests
Intellectual endeavours: languages, sociology, anthroppology, zoology, pedagogy, going to museums.
Daytime leisure activities: sports (basketball, hacky sack, tree climbing), music, going to the beach, reading stupid news stories on the internet.
Nightttime hobbies: drinking beer, being as hedonistic as possible, wandering around Marseille, drinking rhum, jumping up and down because of the music in my head.
Update: after living for two years in Asia, where I cut down on the rhum, I'm back in Paris and stayed home during the cold winter months.
Update to the update: I became a father (getting a second son in Sept 2013), so i kind of cut down on the obstreperous partying. I also have a little less time for couchsurfers. Oh, and I took a job in Beijing. I do like to host cool guests from time to time.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Buffet Froid, Brazil, Bad Lieutenant, Babel, Big Fish, Clerks, Les Enfants du Paradis, Things to do in Denver when you're dead, Life of Mammals, all Monty Python movies...
Music: intelligent rap, jazz, reggae, Argentinian tango, rock/pop rock, world music (that should do - I basically like chilled out tunes)... Oh yeah I'm also a big Tom Waits fan.
Books I really enjoyed: Freakonomics, Life of Pi, A Short History of Nearly Everything, The Man Who mistook his Wife for a hat, Crime and Punishment, Candide...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Outwalked a guide in the Malagasy rain forest near Diego Suarez.
