Born and raised in one of the many suburbs (where people unfortunately don´t speak the bavarian dialect anymore) around Munich I spend many years denying it until I couldn´t live a lie any longer: Despite everything do I love the Oktoberfest. One day, probably when things started to not make sense any more, I started to wonder and haven´t stopped since. And wondering what to do after finishing school I just went the easy way and “academized” my wondering: I now study Philosophy in Munich. After graduation I travelled trough southamerica (the countries i visited are listed below). My heart and soul belong - amongst other - to the philosophy magazine "Die Funzel" which I am part of. In my free time I do stuff students of the humanities just do; visiting the theatre, reading, drinking red wine, hearing classical music, etc. In my free time I dance ballett and play the piano.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Experiencing a certain place is, in my eyes, superficial if you don´t get involved with the people. I´m interested in "inside perspectives", because in most cases it´s people embodying culture - not the sights. Also, people - unlike the things worth seeing - have stories to share and inspiration to give. Surfing couches is the easiest way to get in touch with "the locals".

Música, películas y libros

I like Mahler´s, Beethoven´s, Schostakowitsch´s and Mendelssohns´s works probably the most when it comes to classical music. Having not forgotten my sixteen year old me, I listen to hip hop on special occasions (means: grocery shopping). I also like Indie rock, Jazz and Chanson.
Favourite movies/series (changes by season): "Breakfast at Tiffany´s", "Twin Peaks" and "La grande belleza"
Favourite books: "Die Buddenbrooks" by Thomas Mann, "Biedermann und die Brandstifter" by Max Frisch and Stefan Zweig´s " Die Schachnovelle".

Algo increíble que he hecho

One evening, in Havanna, I sat in front of the front door writing something down as a little boy approached. He was too shy to speak and just pointed at my notebook, I handed him over a pen and a piece of paper. We sat next to each other for a while. He drew something and I had continued writing. Then he handed me the peace of paper - it depicted a person wich was probably supposed to be me - wished me a good night and ran off.
