Hi! From Kat and Jack, Melbourne, Australia.
Alan Watts once said "Trying to define yourself is like trying to bite your own teeth". As true as these words are, i will try my best!
I'm interested in hiking, oil pastels, playing the didgeridoo, Spirituality, Meditation, yoga, laughing and dancing and genuine human connections. I love other cultures and would say i have a down to earth approach to life. I'm calm but inquisitive, outgoing yet comfortable with my own company. I always try to learn new concepts and ways of thinking that can challenge my own. I love Science Fiction writing and spend quite a bit of time thinking about the mysteries of the cosmos and what wonders lie ahead of us!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Authentic experience is something i hold dear. I believe Couch Surfing is a wonderful tool that makes use of this opportunity,
Kat and I love to travel. for three months in mid 2015 we travelled to Sri Lanka and hiked in Nepal. We were in Kathmandu when the Earthquake Happened and were stranded camping on the outskirts of Kathmandu, ultimately being evacuated by the Australia Air force 5 days later!
Vipassana Meditation, Yoga, Didgeridoo!
I love Science Fiction writing and spend quite a bit of time thinking about the mysteries of the cosmos and what wonders lie ahead of us!
I also love listening to greats speakers such as Alan Watts and podcasts about the world around us such a RadioLab, This American Life.
Music, Movies, and Books
Sci Fi! Isaac Asimov's Foundation Series, Cyberpunk books such as Neuromancer and Snow Crash. Peter Hamiltons Dreaming Void trilogy.
Music, all genres, but i love Pantha Du Prince, Hiatus Kaiyote (great Melbourne based band), Nujabes, to name a few.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Exchange to Japan for 3 months when i was 15. That's what got me hooked on gaining new cultural perspectives! I lived in a Rural town Called Shibushi, south of Kagoshima, lived in a traditional Buddhist household and went to school.
Teach, Learn, Share
We are travelling in South / Central America mainly to teach English, so if anyone needs helps with English, maybe in exchange for some Spanish lessons, we'd love to help :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
A warm and open heart, genuine conversation, new perspectives, laughs and a big smile!
I'l be taking my Spiral Didgeridoo around with me so if anyones interested in learning to play, i can help!
