Overview
About Me
I'm looking to take some time out of my life to travel. I grew up in a pub in the heart of the English countryside, and spent a lot of my free time either helping my father work on the village engines (cars, tractors, etc), reading, going on hiking/camping trips, and lending a helping hand to the local farms.
I just want to find a way of life that takes me to incredible places and people across the globe. I want to meet people who enjoy music, literature, laughing, and heated philosophical debates - people who just appreciate the perks of life in general. I don't want to look back on my life when I'm sixty and regret that I didn't 'do that', 'go there', and 'meet them'.
I am a bartender at the moment, though I've had several volunteer jobs too: librarian, tour guide, book store assistant, Performing Arts teacher. I can make great cocktails, and get along with people easily. I want to be a film director one day. I have been an author for a few years (I've been writing stories since I was a very little girl, I've had some short stories published, and I am currently working on my second novel - I had to scrap my first one because it fell apart a bit).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really love to travel. It's a passion of mine, as has been for a few years now, and I think one of the best ways to truly experience a place and its culture is to spend time living with the locals.
Interests
I'm a pretty good cook, and I like to experiment in the kitchen, giving my own twist to classic dishes like madras curries, creamy pastas, and chilli con carne. I also like to bake bread, and cookies - although half the cookie batter tends to go mysteriously missing... into my mouth...
I finished studying Literature, Sociology, and Film in June 2016, and am currently writing a Fantasy novel (think Game Of Thrones crossed with Pirates Of The Caribbean) and I occasionally make short films when I have the time.

Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is quite broad, although Pink Floyd, Halsey, Hozier, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Louis Armstrong, Ed Sheeran, and Daughter are all definite favourites... So I guess you could suggest that Soft Rock, Jazz&Blues, and Folk are my centre-stage genres.
As for books, I've lost count of how many I've read and loved. I started reading full books when I was perhaps five, and progressed rapidly in my level of ability thereafter. Throne Of Glass is easily my favourite book series (I even have a tattoo from it), although Lord Of The Rings (J R R Tolkien), The Gargoyle (Andrew Davidson), The Host (Stephenie Meyer), 1984 (George Orwell), Royal Street (Suzanne Johnson), and Frankenstein (Mary Shelly) all hold dear places in my heart. I'm also particularly fond of most work by Chaucer, Benjamin Zephaniah, Oscar Wilde, and Terry Pratchett.
My favourite films would probably be Y Tu Mama Tambien (2001, Alfonso Cuaron), Avatar (2009 James Cameron), Black Snake Moan (2006, Craig Brewer), Big Fish (2003, Tim Burton), and The Butterfly Effect (2004, Eric Bress and J Mackye Gruber); oddly, none of my favourite films' casts include, arguably, my favourite actor, Johnny Depp.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This may not be amazing to you, but it certainly was a break through the travelling fear barrier for me: flying (first time on a plane) to Marbella (I knew absolutely no Spanish at the time) on a whim (decided about two weeks before I left that I would go) with two people I'd known for a few years, two people I'd known for a few months, and one person I'd never met before.
Something amazing that I've SEEN would probably be the Colosseum in Rome, or the view from the top of the Acropolis in Athens.
I think the most amazing thing that I've ever done, though, for me, is decide to quit my life so far and travel full-time.
