Having trained as a teacher in the UK, I decided to seek out ways to combine my love of teaching with my love of travel. This led me to my current position in Thailand. It's given me the perfect opportunity to make good use of the school holidays, and I have visited much of South East Asia. My next step is to take a year off from the profession to travel around South America.

I would prefer to meet locals during my travels as they can offer the best insight to the areas I visit. It also provides a way to connect to the local community in more depth.

Climbed a Buddhist mountain with my father to view a solar eclipse in China. Our aim was to get about the clouds to witness the event. In reality, we found ourselves standing in the middle of the cloud we were trying to avoid and so saw nothing of the eclipse... (EXCEPT for the surreal sweeping darkness. That was amazing!)
