ABOUT ME

As my profile says my name is Kenton. I'm currently teaching English in Korea before heading back home to finish up 6 more years of schooling. I'd love to say I'm pretty laid back and chill guy which I can be but in all truth I like to try and expect the unexpected thus I always want to know information about where I am. When I travel I tend to hate most tourist sites so when people ask me about tourist sites I never know what to tell them (other than I used to work at one). I love experiencing countries I travel to through the eyes of myself as if I had lived their my entire life. That includes partying, people and all those great back alley dive restaurants and arcades most regular people never know about. I'm pretty social so making friends wherever I go sort of comes naturally. I love getting to know new personalities and finding out interesting customs from different people.

Here's a quick break down after that long bit. I don't like the colour green, my favourite colour is yellow, I love the sound of the dialect I speak (Jamaican Patois), most scenery bores me, love sports when you find the right people to play with, don't like bland foods and don't understand when people say "ad some salt" as I grew up with "add some pepper", love spicy food (total given), prefer dogs but am an overall animal lover, Tequila shots with no chasers are the best.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I have only couchsurfed once while in Shanghai and I had an amazing time. I don't live in one of the biggest cities in Korea but I do hope that I can host someone here as it is a great city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only Couchsurfed once in Shanghai and it was an overall great time. Two friends and I stayed over and got t jam on the guitar, watch movies and got recommended some amazing places to visit. This experience began my overall love of the Couchsurfing community.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being in Norway during a couple of polar days and being shocked to find out after a night of partying that it was actually 5am rather than being 1am like I thought it was based off of the sky.
Going to the hot river in Jamaica for one of the best massages ever.
A perfect day filled with food, shopping and partying in Hong Kong.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning bits and pieces of different languages, its the same for me as taking home a small trinket from a tourist shop. When I travel I really want to feel as if I've been living there so I'm not one for most tourist sites instead I prefer all the small places locals go that a tourist would probably never read about in a guide book. As for what I have to offer I don't think I have any skills that are outright amazing but I love a great conversation, I can teach you some Patois (Jamaican dialect) and I love to cook so I'm always ready to teach someone a recipe or learn a new one from you.
