ABOUT ME

I grew up in a tiny town in Southern Indiana and escaped as soon as possible to Bloomington, which to me is a city (though anyone from a big city might beg to differ). I am in love with Bloomington, but I am always looking to explore new cities and meet new people.

I'm definitely a goofball. I am happy (almost) all of the time and I laugh and smile a lot. I'm the type of person to make a joke right after discovering his laptop just got stolen. Humor is a huge part of my life.

Just a heads up to any potential hosts or guests, I do practice veganism. This is for a number of reasons and you can feel free to ask me about all of them.

It's pretty hard to tell you ALL about myself, but I'm sure you will learn much more if we meet up in the real world.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't really have much of a specific philosophy on life. I just try to do as much good as I can in the world without completely sacrificing my own personal interests. I think if everyone strives not to harm others the world will be a much better place.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed a couple times, but have yet to host anyone. I look forward to hosting and also to my future surfing experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only surfed twice, but I have had a wonderful time so far. My best experience thus far has been staying in St. Louis, where I had an amazing host who not only gave us a place to stay, but also took a lot of his own time to show us around the city. He had grown up there and had a lot of insight about the city and knowledge of cool spots for visitors to check out.

兴趣

I'm REALLY interested in music (to the point where it's pretty nerdy). I love to listen to it, watch it live, and create it. My mainstays are punk, hip-hop, and electronic, but I tend to be pretty adventurous when it comes to music and will give just about anything a listen.

I am also very into movies, although I wouldn't quite call myself a movie buff. I love to watch movies and have favorite directors and actors and what-not, but I don't really know the ins and outs like some people I've known.

I'm interested in all sorts of other stuff, but again it's hard to sum it all up in this text box.

My interests are quite varied in all three. I love old horror films (both ridiculous ones and those that are actually good), I like quite a few new horror films, I love comedy, I'm a huge Clint Eastwood fan, and John Carpenter might just be my favorite director (and score composer) ever.

My mainstays for music are hip-hop, punk, and electronic (all three are pretty broad umbrellas), but as I said before, I'll give just about anything a listen.

Sadly, I haven't had much time to read in recent months, but I love stuff by Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Brian Keene, Kurt Vonnegut, and other random books I pick up here and there.

As I've mentioned, I know quite a lot about music (though not necessarily in the classically trained way). I can definitely teach a little bit about creating music on a computer, though. I generally use FLStudio, but I have experience with Ableton Live, Digital Performer, and Garageband. I have a pretty deep knowledge of video editing (specifically with Final Cut Pro) and video composition.

I am down to learn all sorts of things. Vegan cooking is something I am always looking to improve upon. Learning anything I don't know about music can always help me in my creative endeavors. Everyone's got different areas of expertise and I'm sure I can draw something from anybody.
