I was born in Tokyo and I've lived most my life in Helsinki. I just returned from Tokyo where I studied arts for half a year.

I host in Helsinki. I find it important that there's enough time and momentum for connection. Contacting and talking well in advance helps. I check messages and respond usually once a day.

Couchsurfing is antifragile! Constant rate of uncertainty and life changing black swans. Sharing moments and building trust across the globe.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One way or another I've experienced tremendous hospitality since a kid. Here through CS I've stayed with hosts in Japan. Hosted some guests in our Helsinki co-working studio.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Becoming humbled by a professional boom, bust and regrowth.

During the past few years I co-authored a public school building in Finland, which we were fortunate enough to win through an open design competition. With that momentum we also competed for the design of my own university's new building and a central hospital. Our hard work gave birth to something fresh and advanced, but sadly were met by conservative juries. Now I've been back to my studies and my views and methods of architecture are now being shaped by personal growth and compassion.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A passion for cooking! I carry around a piece of Finnish pakuri for some antioxidant tea.

Compassionate communication. And other life-philosophical ways of thinking. Deep conversations about life, art, systems and so on. If you like, I'll sketch you a house.

And of course anything about life in the social-democratic utopia land of Moomins — Finland.
