CURRENT MISSION

I try to enjoy life each day! Through being positive, laughing A LOT (those that know me understand as my laugh is a trademark because it is loud and am I not afraid to LOL), and surrounding myself with fun and exciting peeps really makes me happy!

ABOUT ME

I enjoy meeting new people, seeing new things and trying new experiences. Love sports (especially football, soccer (futbol), tennis and basketball. I do have a particular weakness for accents and wish I could fake one (Australian) just for my own use (like leaving my voice mail message). Enjoy traveling pretty much anywhere and vowed to myself two years ago that I would take one "Life Enrichment" trip each year. Last year I went to Africa and summitted Mt. Kilimanjaro and then went on a 3 day safari (a life dream). This year I am off to New Zealand!

PHILOSOPHY

To enjoy life. I had a brain aneurysm that burst in 2008 and was fortunate enough to live and eventually get back into my normal routines (much to the worry of my family and friends). Things I say all the time are: life demands flexibility; I may not be here tomorrow so I better enjoy today (that is usually before doing something I wouldn't normally do at that particular time - eat dessert after 8pm; have an adult beverage during the work week). I am a big laugher so I like to be around funny, laid back people. I do not take life too seriously (especially since I'm clumsy so I'm always tripping or doing something less than graceful but laughable).

I would like to be a surfer and a host with this program but I will have to see how it goes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A good friend at work has a sister and brother-in-law that are couch surfers. That is how I came to participate. Once I couldn't find a hotel or place to stay, they recommended I do this and promised I would not regret it so I took the plunge! I have not had any real experience yet except setting up my profile and searching around the site. I like what I see so far though!

Interests

People, places, things, ideas...basically nouns. I like getting to know people and carrying on conversations. I enjoy running and eating healthy.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't see many movies at the theater but I enjoy them when I do. I like music (all different kinds) and I LOVE dancing (all different kinds). Some of the last concerts I went to this year were U2, Rhianna, DBR and 311. Each was completely different in genre but I danced at every one. I also love to read, most non-fiction but I notice I read much of the same author (my fav is Clive Cussler since high school).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

August 2010 - I summitted Mt. Kilimanjaro with the help of a group of amazing women, awesome porters, and guides that we could not have done it without!

Being new to couch surfing, I hope to learn about this community and be interested enough to host surfers on my own couch someday!
