ABOUT ME

To be brief: I'm quiet, but I love everything. I write; poetry and short stories, and I'm trying to write a novel. I'm a former English teacher who has taught in New York City and the United Arab Emirates, as well as a mentor in Lancaster, PA. After a hiatus from couchsurfing I'm interested in exploring the world again!

PHILOSOPHY

Kindness to others, and empathy for them, is the least we can offer the world.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I mainly mooch. I lived in Pittsburgh, and nobody wants to go to Pittsburgh! So instead I took advantage of generous hosts in far more interesting locales.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Stayed with a couple folks in Portland when I was hitch-hiking and was desperately in need of a place to stay (nights can get cold in the Northwest, even in summertime it seems...). Also stayed with a wonderful young lady in Kyoto, she was Lithuanian and spoke beautiful English.

Hitch-hiked across the U.S., actually. I have never been happier.

Esoteric knowledge. Well how about "he who does not speak is wise"? Which would mean anything I say here will be essentially unwise.
