About Me

I’m a dual citizen (American and Italian). I grew up in the Hudson Valley, an hour north of NYC. I was a lifeguard in my teens and a nanny in college. I worked in the book publishing industry, too. After university, I was a medic in the navy. Then became a nurse. Now, I live in Manhattan. I’m doing an online masters in nursing informatics.

Music, Movies, and Books

I’ve published three autobiographical novels. The first is about becoming a minimalist while traveling around the USA on a tight budget.

The second is about living as an expat in places like Mexico and Bali, while getting back into golf, surfing, and weight lifting.

The third is about dealing with chronic pain, residual effects of my traumatic brain injury, and veteran suicide.

My hobby is going to museums, attractions, and events. I take videos and post them to a video channel. Most people haven’t heard of Rumble (basically, it’s the YouTube alternative).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My first degree was in a program called University Without Walls. I studied abroad every semester. Then published a multimedia thesis (basically a combination of Wikipedia and YouTube) while volunteering in NYC public schools . Some of my programs included:

-Ancient Greek at Oxford University.
-Fine & Decorative Art appraisal at NYU.
-Politics at Charles University in Prague.
-Astrobiology at Biosphere 2 Center (Columbia Uni).
-Interning at the Embassy of Papua New Guinea (DC)
-Several programs in Mexico, Egypt, & Australia.
-Student film at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.
-Tracing steps of Ulysses around the Mediterranean.
-World Expo in Germany.

After the service, I lived in a camper van without running water, nor electricity. I followed the weather and showered at gyms. That’s when I heard about CSing! I traveled around the country doing the national park circuit for years.

I basically did the same thing abroad. I started wintering in the developing world. Then living there full-time as an expat. In total, I’ve lived in 37/100 of the most populous world cities.

Fun, but like cramming 100 lifetimes into 1. Now settled in Manhattan. Great rent-stabilized apartment in a luxury building with an indoor pool.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have some fun certifications such as scuba diving, free diving, TEFL, personal training, art appraisal, etc. I love spending all day at museums and walking around cities.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like chatting, museums, sightseeing, chess, hiking, guitar, etc.

I just moved to an amazing one bedroom apartment in the Garment District of Manhattan. My building has an indoor pool, sauna, gym, yoga studio, roof deck, etc. (see pics).

I’m just about settled. I hope to start hosting soon!
