Brit currently living in KL.

Moved out here with my job, fell in love with the food, fell out of love with the job, moving into starting up a street food business (long story that's more interesting over a beer but happy to explain if you're curious).

Been seriously researching Malaysian cuisine since getting here, eating and cooking everything in sight. Plus travelling around the region, contantly searching for the next Bourdainian adventure. (I have many other interests, but they are somewhat secondary at the moment).

Dedicated solo traveller who loves nothing more than going to a new place, meeting new people and talking all night over some food and a cold beer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always wanted to do this but was previously put off as living in a London flatshare I was aware I'd likely never be able to reciprocate in turn.

Now I'm away from London's rental market I have a tonne of space so figured it was time to get involved!

Eating with people is always best as you get to try 2x as much!

Movies - I have a really poor memory for them but may all time top 3 of Goodfellas, City of God & Oldboy (will be different on a different day)
Books - Hemingway, Murakama, anything historical/political about a country I'm currently in.. and cook books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was once locked up in a cell for 24h in Malawi. Maybe not amazing but a great story, best told over a beer (or 2).
