ABOUT ME

Yap! I'm Tobias! Feeling happy that I'm on Couchsurfing now. I'm 23 years old - studying right now - studied in Germany for three years and now I am in Tartu / Estonia for one year.

I'm a happy chap - interested in a lot of things, including reading, writing, travelling, communicating (a lot), contemplating and just exchanging ideas and stories. People's fates are incredibly interesting.

I've lived in Denmark, Germany and now in Estonia (soon Germany again) and I'm really excited about Europe's diversity -- definitely want to travel around Europe.

I like Art and once again, it's hard to put in words -- I always happen to steer into the direction of small galeries (really refreshing experience was in Vilnius, where there galleries almost at every corner) but also those fantastic big art galleries that are blossoming everywhere -- modern architecture and art really is a nice combination.

I like riding a bike - and I've always done it - still I'm waiting to ride a bike for the first time in Copenhagen.. It's so liberating to move around cities on those two wheels that can bring you everywhere..

Grasping opportunities is something I really enjoy - and there're so many out there hiding in real life, art, literature, peoples stories, music and science! Let's go ahead!

PHILOSOPHY

As mentioned above - my philosophy is to really get in touch with people to find out, who they are and what they do! Superficiality is not my style!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've used CS before, but never that actively, but as I am planning to travel more around Europe (basically, hopefully bigger travels will come up as well) I hope to be able to use it more. Have done little hosting in Tartu with my flatmate Anna - Doors open

Interests

I really enjoy to meet people and get inspired by their ideas! That's why I read a lot as well - sometimes there are some many ideas, that amaze me so that I am confused, and don't know where to go what to do! But there's always something I do!

Music, Movies, and Books

Honestly it's hard to remember all those names, but here's a little recap: It all started with Rap Music, moving further to Alternative Music and now getting to know the depth of Electronic Music. About Movies: Can't really put them into categories as I can with music - but examples: Down by law, Clockwork Orange, Dr. Strangelove, Fargo.. Ohh books! Tough one: It all comes back to On the Road - It all comes back to Ernest and his Paris Feast and the amazing danish author Tom Kristensen, who wrote Hærværk (Vandalism) and many more like Thomas Manns "The confessions of Felix Krull", Kierkegaard, the young german author Leif Randt.. It would be a lot easier if my bookshelf was in front of me now :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was on the Faroe Islands this summer! I was in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the North-Atlantic and there wasn't much around. Only green hills and very few people. And a lot of sheep! It was spectactular to see how people live in really far away place!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some Danish - I want learn about other languages, cause I see them as a mirror of culture - I want to learn more about sailing - I want to surf, I want to share great happy moments and knowledge.. and I can always show people around in areas that I'm very familiar with..
