ABOUT ME

Well... where to begin?..

Jaimee and I are a "typical" German-Canadian couple, that's been married for 13 odd years. A majority of that time we've lived in Stratford and London, Ontario. In mid 2008 we moved to my native Germany.

I'd like to describe us as 2 fairly laid back, open minded individuals, who never stop learning and growing up. We love to read, talk about facts/myths/theories of life, the universe, philosophy, culture, food... the list goes on and on. The topic of foods comes up more frequently as we are vegans who continuously struggle with dodging the dairy :)

We have 2 beautiful daughters: Alexandra (11), and Zoe (5).

In the summer time our Family likes to go out on bike rides along the countless bicycle streets of Freiburg or through one of our forests. We sure do appreciate the nature all around us. We like to travel both long and short distance.

PHILOSOPHY

The best things in life aren't things.

Moralty is doing what's right, regardless what you're told. Obedience on the other hand is doing as you told, regardless what's right or wrong.

Other people are neither my property, nor someone elses. Therefore I negate the notion that statism/coercion (ultimately resting on a foundation of violence) is justified.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We want to participate by being generous with our time and space. Although we have a family, we believe in the value of spending time with (ie. making new) friends, sharing our experiences, and learning from them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Totally positive!

The idea and the principle behind CS very much align with values and interests that we hold dear...

Those Values entail for example the breaking of old networking struktures, the empowerment of the people, the abandoning of our cancered monetary system, and of course the making of new friends!
