I am Tobi, 25, a student of Political Science and Chinese.

My life goal is helping with keeping this wretched species of ours and our planet alive as good as possible and preparing it for the interstellar expansion.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find there is always a big difference between living in some place and visiting it as a tourist. Both have their merits and why not bringing some of those together? Moreover I'm very comfortable with being on the move and curious to visit local people's dwellings and experience their lifestyle.
Also, I'm a long-time practicing car-surfer (a.k.a. hitchhiker) and I'm trying to get and offer a more grounded experience now and then.

Interests

I keep myself busy with music and arts, I cook at least once a day - Sichuanese cuisine being my favourite.
I like reading about philosophy, politics, culture, basically everything sciencey and harassing my friends with this boring shit.^^ Lucky them, I spend plenty of time swimming, cycling, hiking and mushroom hunting... I'm into psychedelics and meditation and like to learn about other people's experiences and share my own as well.
I used to spend more time on learning languages and volunteering and I'm trying to integrate more of that into my life again.
Apart from that, travelling is a thing I indulge in and I enjoy both nature-focussed and city/culture-focussed trips alike.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is a passion for me, I play the flute/irish whistles, but apart from that mostly 'consume'
I am definitely not biased against any sort of music, my preferred styles range from all kinds of electronic music (slow trance, ambient, minimal) over psychedelic rock, black metal, Neofolk and Jazz to Indian classical music and everything in between... I spend huge chunks of my day with it.

I mostly read non-fiction and articles and mostly watch everything with a good sense of drama and aesthetics.

Haven't been killed in some stupid accident and haven't had a mental breakdown in this crazy, neurotic society of ours (no ill intent and my sincere understanding for everybody who has ^^).
