About Me

Dear 'You' - I am Tobi from Germany (26j) and currently travelling through Southeast Asia. My aim is to gain insights into countries and cultures that I have never been to but that have become relevant to me during the last few years. As a vegan, I love Thai food - Cambodian history has parallels with the German holocaust, Bangladesh is where our (German) textile is coming from but that I know so little about, and India is a country full of contrasts that simply fascinates me.

I used to work as a consultant in the aviation industry who could take some time off from work for more personal desires to follow - This includes my work as a development assistant in Guinea (West-Africa) as well as my interest for environmental problems, consumerism and consumer behaviour.

As part of my personal approach to the above mentioned topics I started to live vegan to find answers of how a (more) sustainable lifestyle may look like - one of the best decisions I made so far.

I would describe myself as an open-minded, curious, active and friendly person who loves to share stories, perspectives and everything else that comes along the encounter to make the moment enjoyable, authentic and fun to share!

And almost forgot: I am a clean, tidy and non-smoking person that pays great respect to your needs, way of living and your home to make you feel at home (and not just the other way around ;)

Hope to see you soon and thanks for checking my profile up to this point ;-)

All the best - Tobi

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hosted people from different countries and I am greatful and happy about the encounters I had so far - with some of them still being friends today. While I travelled I was often welcomed with a lot of hospitality and shared some exciting and positive moments. With that in mind I would like to also return this favor to those who happen to discover the country and city in which live. On the other hand, I thank those who grant this opportunity when stopping by at their homes.
