Living in rural Ireland, making music, building a new life, and still fighting for a better world ✊

About Us
We’re a relaxed, open-minded family living in North Cork, Ireland.

Tobi used to be a barkeeper and construction worker, now working in Customer Experience while always chasing music and political projects.

Stella is retired due to a spine condition but still full of energy for hosting, cooking, and meeting new people.

Our child Alen is now a teenager, still curious about the world and happy to meet travelers from different countries.

And we share our life with four rescue dogs 🐕🐕🐕🐕 – no cats anymore.

We’re very outgoing and crazy about music – both of us play instruments and love sessions in pubs or at home. 🎶

We’re also political people: active in international solidarity, anti-fascist and anti-racist struggles, environmentalism, and socialism/communism. So if you’re interested in politics, you’ll always find good discussions here – and maybe even a demo to join.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We often invite musicians for living room concerts, Host people, traveling around, show people our city, country, how we live. Making music, visiting some bars, cook together, making BBQ in Summer, having a good time ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It is a pity but so far we have only experience with hosting, but they were all super and wonderfull

Interests

🎶 Music: We’re both musicians and music lovers. Our life has been one long musical journey – from subcultures to festivals, concerts, and now Irish pub sessions. We love discovering new sounds and sharing songs with others.

🍻 Pubs: We don’t just go to pubs – we celebrate them. Irish pubs are our second living room: good drinks, good people, and long nights of craic and conversation.

✊ Politics: Fighting for human and equal rights is not just an interest – it’s part of our life. We’re both active in left-wing movements, always happy to share ideas and struggles with fellow travelers.

🌍 Travel & people: We love to travel, meet new people, share experiences, and learn from each culture we encounter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Diving with Sharks and Mantas. Making Music with people from all over the world. Learning the 5- String Banjo in less than half a year. Visiting Punkrock, Oi, Ska and Reggae Concerts nearly every weekend for over ten years ;) Having the most wonderfull little girl and the greatest family, ever :D

Teach, Learn, Share

We make music and Tobi plays the Banjo & Dobro, both are very exotic instruments in germany, Stella plays the Upright Bass, Piano and try to learn the mandolin. we love to share music with people. Teach, learn and play together :) We love cooking and we`re interessted in political discussions.

What I Can Share with Hosts

First of all: two friendly, open and outgoing people (plus our teenager and four rescue dogs 🐕).

We’re both passionate cooks and love to share food. 🍲

Music is always around – we love to play together, jam with others, or just enjoy good tunes. 🎶

We can be quiet and respectful, but also have the craic with you in the pub or at home. 🍻

We’re very political people, so if you’re up for it, we enjoy deep and interesting conversations.

And if you stay long enough, you’ll discover the charm of rural Ireland – pubs, walks, and a real countryside vibe. 🌿
