About Me

I believe in personal growth through leveraging creative outlets and embracing vulnerability. I'm not afraid to take chances, because that is where growth lies. I love to have intellectual conversations and am open to changing my beliefs. I love to study the hidden mechanisms behind human behavior, and see people's lives (and the way they see the world) as being constructed by a series of narratives, values, and experiences that I find endless value and intrigue in studying. I'd like to think this makes me a good people person, and also a nerd :P

I own an adventure company in Haiti (anacaonaexcursions.com) and love to talk about adventure travel or Haiti.

I love to write. I'm an avid journaler and I'm writing my own book that will probably never get published.

I love being active. I always have my racquetball gear for anyone who is interested, and always jump into sports wherever I am living.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I'm usually the DJ, so whatever the mood is. Specific songs will have changed by the time you've read this, but usually I'll find out the interests of the group and go from there

Movies: Cowen Brothers, anything with Leonardo Dicaprio (not a big TV person)

Books: I usually stick to non-fiction

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteered in Haiti and lived in complete poverty shortly after college. This meant pooping in a hole (I actually contracted dysentery twice while out there) and eating/drinking very little. I did some great things for the community and helped build the organization to what it is today. Then I started an adventure company as a way to funnel international resources into the community!

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to get to know you, whoever you are, from crack heads to CEOs to yoga instructors. Tell me what gets you out of bed in the morning!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am happy to cook as well as share stories and talk philosophy, politics, or really whatever interests the host! Whatever someone is passionate about is where the true fruit of friendship and conversation lies.

Countries I’ve Visited

England, Haiti, Iceland

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
