ABOUT ME

I was born in Johannesburg/South Africa and hold two passports.

I have been travelling almost around the world, only few countries I am interested in are missing. In other countries I have lived, even though only Los Angeles, CA was a place where I stayed for a couple of years and it still feels like my home in the world.

My other home is Berlin, even though I don't live there anymore. But I went to University in Berlin and lived there for 10 years. Berlin is THE city :) At least in Germany I can't see any other city that just slightly compares to Berlin.

I also used to live in Hamburg for a couple of years, so if you need information about what to see/do in these cities, I am glad to help. Just current events and stuff are for obvious reasons not my main focus :)

After some years working as a Systems Analyst I decided that it is time to move on and I have been exploring more of the world ever since. For now I ended up in China which is an ok place to live at.
At the same time I am heavily into Israel, also learning Hebrew. If I get the chance to find a job in Israel, I definitely would leave China for that :)

I am a smoker, but I am not into drugs or alcohol. So many people assume I am boring - why ever :) Trust me, I am usually a lot of fun...I dont need anything to help me get high, I am high on a natural basis :)

I have very diverse interests and usually dont find people who can cover all of them, so I have to split my friends into different categories :) I like Heavy metal...thrash metal to be precise...and Punk. At the same time I am a classical piano player and also love the opera or classical concerts. I have friends in diverse circles and all over the world. If I can help out with contacts, I am happy to do so.

In general I prefer big cities over rural areas, even though the occasional field trip might be refreshing. I have been living in HUGE cities half of my life and cant really see myself living in a small town. I need to have access to cultural activities and social life anytime...if I can't have that I become a wheeny bit grumpy.

I love animals. All kinds, but mainly dogs - and since I travelled South America also Alpacas. I want to have a little herd at some point...(I know, sounds funny for a big city girl. And no, I don't want to keep them on my balcony :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I am very culturally interested. Means that I like everything that has to do with arts. Theater, concerts (mainly heavy metal, but also classical and others), exhibitions...anything goes. And I adore Jimmy Morrison ... for undisclosed reasons :)

Anything that is written interests me and also all kinds of movies. But I have to admit that I am a big fan of Hollywood :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flight in a small Cessna over the Nasca lines in Peru. Whoohooo...

Crossed the desert Tar in India on a racing camel.

Was in the middle of a violent riot in Tunisia. That night a couple of hundred people were arrested. Taught me that even the most careful person suddenly can end up in dangerous situations.

Belly danced in India with a huge Boa that weighed almost as much as I do. They thought they could scare me - but I like snakes :)

One amazing thing I will do soon is to see Wagner's Ring in full - 4 evenings in a row :) Always wanted to see that and now it actually will come true...
