Overview
About Me
I’m British and Canadian - I lived in a small village near Manchester, UK until I was 17, then moved across the pond to Vancouver, Canada (and never looked back). I've spent the past few years studying in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, but I’ll be heading back across the country this summer to start working in a Vancouver law firm.
I'm relatively new to couchsurfing, but the people I've met so far through the site have been lovely!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm going on my (first ever) solo trip abroad this June and July to Europe - I'd very much like to spend that time meeting and staying with fun and friendly people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Constantly listening to whatever I read on Pitchfork and Stereogum, as well as my twin guilty pleasures of garage punk and 70's disco/soul.
I love cheesy 60’s sci-fi novels and classic murder mysteries: Kurt Vonnegut, Agatha Christie, that kind of thing. Also more serious stuff, with two favourites being Rohinton Mistry's A Fine Balance, and The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro.
My movie knowledge isn’t that great at the moment - I’m always grateful for recommendations!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visiting Preikestolen in Norway, and the island of Staffa in Scotland - both amazing natural wonders.
Teach, Learn, Share
J'essaie d'apprendre le français, donc si tu veux, nous puissions pratiquer! I've translated a lot of francophone songs into English, so I'd be happy to share them - even if my french is incredibly poor at the moment!
What I Can Share with Hosts
My funny accent, my love of obscure music, Manchester United, and Settlers of Catan - plus I can share some beers, if there are any around! I'm also happy to give cooking a try, though I'm no Jamie Oliver (yet)
