Hi, I am Tom.
I'm 27 and live in Schwerte, a town in the metropolitan area of North-Rhine Westphalia quite close to big cities like Dortmund, Dusseldorf and Cologne. In summer 2018 I made worldtrip across seven countries, most of the time I stayed with Couchsurfing hosts an made great experiences with people all over the world.

I live in a small but nice appartment and can host two people comfortable.

I have a glider pilot licence and spent most of my freetime in the summer with gliding. Sometimes when I'm able to leave my comfort zone I go out for a run or to the gym. But I also love to chill at the weekend alone or with friends.

I think many people are too focussed on earning material prosperty and forget that sharing what they have not only helps them and their fellow human beeings but also helps to save recources and money.
When I travel to another country the most important thing for me is to get in touch with locals. They can show you their country and culture in a way no movie, blog or travel guide ever could. They know the "secret spots" far away from crowded and overpriced tourist attractions and provide you an unfiltered insight.
Of couse I want travellers show my beautiful country as well and maybe even proove them that we Germans are way more humorous than you think ;)

That's why I'm on Couchsurfing.

音乐、电影和书籍

Hard to tell, I mostly listen to music from independet artists from SoundClound (Chillstep, Instumental, Soundtracks) but I really like Coldplay and Green Day.

Fight Club is my all time favorite movie but of couse there are a lot more great movies out there.

Honsetly I don't read many printed books anymore but I have a big collection of Disney comics and sometimes I grab one of them, always causes good old childhood memories...

Besides my guest bed (or couch) I can show my my hosts around my neighborhood. I live in a residential area where you can do exciting walks in nice landscapes. But bigger cities like Dortmund (20 min), Dusseldorf and Colonge (both 1 hour) are not too far away and offer many opportunities for exploring, shopping and nightlife.

I also want to share my experiences about travelling with other people. I'm reading a lot about that topic and I'm always intered in stories of other travelllers.
