Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I made the brilliant yet near-fatal choice to buy a Lada whilst travelling in Kyrgyzstan, Central Asia. Although the vehicle gave me and my companions a wonderful opportunity to explore the landscape at our leisure, the car had other ideas.
More things remained broken within the car than worked. The speedometers and fuel gauges? Long gone. Headlights? Forget it. Handbrake? Try shoving a stone below the lever and see if it sticks on a hill, or just bung bricks under the wheels.
Finally, on a steep mountain road, the car decided to give out- by killing the brakes, clutch and accelerator pedals all at once. I was sent hurtling down the mountainside, and thankfully rolled into a town at the bottom of the hill, and one with a mechanic who bought it for scrap- 50 dollars and a bottle of vodka!
