I'm from the UK, and have just moved from Amsterdam to Taiwan! I'm here with my girlfriend, and am very excited to travel as much of the country as possible! I love meeting new people as I travel and hearing their stories, love experiencing new places and trying the local food, and above all love going walking in nature.

We're also going to visit Japan for two weeks in May. Both of us speak English fluently and a bit of Japanese too!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about Couchsurfing a long time ago, and thought it was an amazing idea. I've actually never surfed with anyone yet (my account has been lying dormant for some time) but I have hosted one person when I lived in Kunming.

Interests

For the last ten years, I've been a teacher of languages and natural sciences. These are pretty much my life's passions. I started learning Japanese when I was 14 and lived in Saitama for one year at age 19, after I finished school. I studied Chinese at university and have lived in China twice. For most of the last five years I have lived in London, where I worked as a self-employed tutor. Last year I met my girlfriend and moved to Amsterdam to be with her, and now we're in Taiwan!
